In remote work, how can we transmit this culture?
For us to foster an excellent company culture, it is essential that you feel part of it, that you are part of our day-to-day, our DNA and that above all, you identify yourself and that we also help you to identify.
At the end of the day, you are part of our biggest goal, to grow together.
A positive company culture only brings benefits, makes our employees feel part of the solution, feel motivated and comfortable with what the company advocates and transmits.
2020 was an atypical year with many changes in almost all companies, remote work became our usual model, isolation became part of our dictionary and we had to become familiar with the word pandemic.
The context changes and as a result, the company’s culture has to adapt to this new scenario and continue to make you feel that you are part of it and that it reaches you, even if in a virtual way.
In Teleperformance Portugal, 99% of employees at the peak of the pandemic were placed in the remote work model, as the safety and well-being of our employees was and is fundamental.
In this new scenario, it was essential that our company culture were maintained and adapted to this scenario.
If, under normal circumstances, it is already essential to maintain a positive and solid company culture, in a pandemic scenario and with greater social and professional isolation, it becomes a number one priority.
There are 4 key points that we must consider in this scenario:
First of all, it is essential to ensure that the employee feels connected to the company even though he is in remote work.
Second and third, that you feel assistance, guidance and monitoring in your daily tasks as well as in your personal management.
Finally and essential, make sure that the employee does not feel such a shock in the daily operation, always connecting him to all activities, initiatives, support departments and all the relevant contact points to ensure his interaction and security.
Proximity, team spirit and connection are three essential characteristics.
If you are a TP employee, you will surely know that we have an annual calendar of initiatives and activities for you, completely free. Many of these activities related to sport, physical activity, celebrations and multicultural dynamics.
Have you noticed the changes and adaptations we had to make? For example, we adapted our physical events to online! This way, we guaranteed that we continued to create moments of interaction and that you were less isolated in the “battle the bug” mission.
Over the past few months we have organized several online initiatives such as gaming tournaments, dog training workshops, friends and family initiatives, quiz nights, a cooking class and much more!
Another change we made was to strengthen our internal communication with our employees.
Communicating is probably the most important pillar for maintaining a good company culture, which is why we decided to reinforce our communication and bring TP culture to everyone’s home.
If we used to do so through our newsletters, social platforms and intranet, we currently communicate through more channels.
Surely you have already come face to face with our communications via email, text, constant updates of information and relevant news, right?
In the most critical phase of isolation, we opened a new communication channel with testimonies and daily messages from our CEO, where the most relevant news about the pandemic, the measures to be taken as employees involved in the company’s culture and how to ensure the well-being of everyone.
And as communicating and reaching our customers is never enough, our Employee Support department exists exactly to ensure that people are safe at home, with favorable conditions and well physically and psychologically.
