What you can expect

Join a team focused on building trusted, reliable, and business-ready data across an enterprise data platform. As a Data Quality Engineer, you’ll help design and operate automated data quality controls that improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and overall confidence in reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
You’ll collaborate with data engineers, analysts, architects, data stewards, data owners, and governance stakeholders, working in cloud data environments using technologies such as Azure, Databricks, SQL, and Python.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated data quality checks across ingestion, transformation, reporting, and data product workflows;
  • Build reusable validation components, rule templates, profiling routines, and monitoring patterns to support consistent quality practices;
  • Translate business and stakeholder expectations into measurable rules, thresholds, controls, and acceptance criteria;
  • Monitor data quality alerts, investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate remediation with technical and business teams;
  • Integrate data quality checks into CI/CD, orchestration, and production monitoring workflows;
  • Document quality rules, test results, exceptions, issue patterns, remediation actions, and control coverage;
  • Support data profiling, anomaly detection, reconciliation, and regression testing for new data sources and platform changes.

What you'll need

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data quality engineering, data testing, analytics engineering, or data platform delivery;
  • Strong experience with SQL and Python for validation, profiling, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and automated testing;
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar technologies;
  • Experience with data quality or observability frameworks such as Great Expectations, Databricks Expectations, Deequ, dbt tests, Soda, Monte Carlo, or custom solutions;
  • Understanding of data governance concepts, including ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, classification, business rules, and issue management;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken);
  • Nice to have: experience with Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, CI/CD, version control, Infrastructure as Code, agile methodologies, data privacy, compliance, security practices, or relevant certifications in Azure, Databricks, data governance, data management, or software testing.
