Workplace safety: everyone’s responsibility! With the pandemic, it is essential that companies work together with their employees to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the greatest challenges that societies and companies have ever faced in modern times. And it will only be possible to overcome this challenge if we work together, companies and employees, to stop the spread of this disease and have workplace safety for everyone.
It is the companies’ duty to apply effective strategies that promote workplace safety and allow employees to feel safe in their workplace. Many companies are and continue to be up to all the necessary measures due to the pandemic.
In fact, we know that there is no single solution to achieve an effective workplace safety strategy. All companies are different and unique: they have their identity, culture and type of business, which distinguish them in their modus operandi and in their way of drawing up an effective plan capable of preventing and mitigating pandemic scenarios and ensuring safety measures are followed.
At Teleperformance Portugal we continue, since March 2020, to encourage the basic rules of contingency that need to be followed by employees, such as maintaining a safe distance, always disinfecting the hands, avoid touching the hands at contact points, preferably using the stairs in instead of elevators, among others.
As a responsible company and concerned with its employees, we continue to provide all the materials and organization necessary for this. As, for example, the gel alcohol dispensers scattered throughout the buildings, we clean the common spaces frequently and ensure that there is information displayed in all our buildings with all the safety tips at work, such as the mandatory use of a mask . TP also made sure to ensure that all employees have access to the latest information / recommendations from the DGS (General Directorate of Health) and WHO (International Health Organization) and shares all this information through various channels frequently.
But Teleperformance Portugal went further and even before the mandatory collection in Portugal, managed to transform its business model into a remote model through the TP Cloud Campus. This solution allowed us to use this knowledge and adapt it to our business model, allowing all employees to work remotely in the security of their homes, based on the cloud.
Recognizing the efforts of Teleperformance Portugal in applying the best practices in combating and preventing the Covid-19 virus and ensuring safety at work EIC / VERYCER gives it the “COVID Clean” certification. This certification comes after an exhaustive audit process carried out by an external entity, for three days, in which all the company’s facilities were analyzed in order to guarantee that all the safety measures at work were being correctly applied. The results proved to be quite good, and even this external audit revealed 0 non-compliance with best practices, providing additional confidence to the entire Teleperformance Portugal community.
