Gaming experience is a field with a new professional impact, accompanied by tremendous growth
In recent years, several studies have demystified some of the stereotypes associated with gamers, giving it the recognition deserved. At the same time, studies have shown the advantages that gaming can have on people’s cognitive, personal, and professional development. Currently, being a gamer is a full-time job. And this market has a lot to tell. The gaming industry is booming, and it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Gaming experience in the recruitment process
The essence of gaming is the ability to make choices quickly and accurately. Given that, it is no surprise that many companies already use video games in their recruitment process to identify the potential and characteristics of candidates. While getting a degree in programming, development or design might give your CV a boost, there’s nothing more valuable than the knowledge gained playing games throughout the years.
Gaming Career
It has become gradually common to hear of gamers starting to earn soccer salaries by participating in tournaments with million-dollar prizes, or by broadcasting their games, creating a community of subscribers who pay to watch them play. So, it is not surprising that more and more people are looking at their games not only as a hobby but also as an opportunity to work on something they really enjoy doing.
Working in the gaming capital
In May 2022, Teleperformance opened a world-class eSports arena. It offers facilities with top-notch equipment and the ability to stream team competitions. It also has the ability for the public to watch.
The arena was built for the employees, in the Lisbon office. We have about 13 000 employees of 111 nationalities in Portugal, so everyone can play or watch other teams play. It’s a space where everyone can test new games, and platforms or use it as a lab for new brands.
Gaming experience on Teleperformance
In the last few months, we’ve had new people join the team because of their interest in gaming. Here is the example of Isabel Zovko, Content Moderator at Teleperformance Portugal. As she says in this interview “Teleperformance eSports arena has been an opportunity to meet people, find new gamers, stream and build an audience”.
