Last Saturday, April 29th, some TP employees joined in a volunteer action at Casa dos Animais de Lisboa and at União Zoófila.
These two associations are a reference in animals protection, emerging in Lisbon. They aim to care for, protect and prepare animals for responsible adoption. The Casa dos Animais de Lisboa welcomes unprotected animals, preparing them for adoption. On the other hand, the União Zoófila is a shelter for animals built in 1951 with the purpose of receiving, caring for and reintegrating unprotected animals (dogs and cats).
This COTW initiative had a total duration of 7 hours full of sociability, support, joy and love for animals of both associations.
COTW – Let’s Walk our Besties
In the morning, the volunteers walked the dogs from the Lisbon City Council official kennel, Casa dos Animais. Since that in this institution the animals are used to take morning walks near the kennel to explore and exercise, this same activity was carried out. Each TP employee took a friend, their “bestie” on a circular path ride in Monsanto. It was a fun and social morning for everyone.
COTW – Our Best Friends – Spring Edition
In the afternoon, Teleperformance employees went to União Zoófila. There, they were able to interact with the association’s dogs and cats and perform various tasks in the kennel and cattery, necessary for its daily functioning. The tasks consisted on collecting donations, caring for and feeding the animals and helping to spread a hammock to protect them from the heat.
A Connection with Benefits
In summary, taking care of our animals is essential for their healthy development and growth. It is also a transformative process, for them and for their owners. Our pet emotional support and the unconditional love they have for us allows us to live our daily lives more calmly and peacefully. Moreover, it is scientifically proven that animals help to minimize everyday stress and are a boost to our mental health. Thus, this solidary action developed by Teleperformance embraces April’s commemoration of stress prevention and action.
